How to apply

All applicants will have to provide the following documents as a single PDF file and submit them via email to the ESOR Office:

  2. Confirmation letters from chosen hosting centres
  3. ESOR curriculum vitae template* (DOC)
  4. Motivation letter
  5. Two letters of support
  6. Checklist

Please read through these detailed guidelines and instructions on how to apply before preparing your application.

*Each candidate is required to submit the provided ESOR CV. Any application with another CV will not be considered.

Please note that only complete applications can be considered. To ensure equal opportunities candidates should apply only to institutions outside of their country of residence/work.
The fellow is asked to take care of his/her working permit and insurance. Please note that he/she is responsible for his/her visa. The training centre will help the fellow with all organisational details.

Nicholas Gourtsoyiannis Teaching Fellowship

The Nicholas Gourtsoyiannis Teaching Fellowship, established by the European Radiology Private Foundation, is aimed at radiologists with clinical and academic experience, who wish to enhance their teaching and training skills, by delivering lectures and undertaking interactive workshops in a foreign environment.

The fellowship will consist of two visits, at two different radiology departments and/or universities chosen by the fellow. At each site, the fellow is asked to deliver two lectures/workshops. The fellow must prepare different lectures/workshops for each of the hosting centres.

Eligibility

  1. This fellowship is aimed at board-certified radiologists, holding a consultant post or an academic position, who have completed three to six years of clinical/academic practice at the time of application.
  2. Applicants must be ESR members in good standing.
  3. Applicants must provide all the required documents together with the application.

Duration of fellowship and funding

The fellowship must take place during the same year of the application. Any postponement is not possible. The fellow will receive a grant (€4,500.-) upon completion of the training and delivery of a final report. The grant is intended to contribute in part to travel and accommodation expenses during the training period. ESOR cannot guarantee that the grant will cover these costs in full. During the period of the training the fellow is responsible for covering his/her expenses and his/her own health insurance.

Certification

After successful completion of the training the fellow receives a certificate from ESR/ESOR. In order to receive this, the fellow must present a written report about his/her work and activities during the programme.
