ESOR Course on Chest Radiology | July 5, 2023

Course information

This course aims to familiarise senior residents and board-certified radiologists with cutting-edge clinical imaging technology using PR, CT, MRI and hybrid imaging. The one-day course addresses the broad spectrum of pulmonary diseases and the respective findings in chest radiology. The range of topics covers the ever-challenging area of projection radiography on the ICU as well as current answers from radiology regarding imaging and management of patients with pulmonary nodules, lung cancer, obstructive airway disease, pneumonia and interstitial lung disease. The course focuses on the clinical needs, technical solutions and appropriate application of imaging in primary diagnosis, staging, treatment decision-making, therapy response assessment, complications and follow-up surveillance of these disease entities. Also, the basic aspects of quantitative imaging biomarkers and structured reporting are addressed. A unique group of European faculty members offers top quality interactive lectures, guaranteeing a high-quality teaching programme.

Learning objectives

  • to become familiar with the latest technical and methodological advances in chest radiology ready to be used in clinical practice
  • to understand the diagnostic and prognostic value provided by state•of•the•art chest radiology related to the individual setting
  • to consolidate knowledge about the current best practice indications and the appropriate use of CXR, CT, MRI and hybrid imaging for patients with different pulmonary diseases
