ESOR Course on Cardiovascular Imaging| October 11, 2024

Course information

The course is aimed at participants from Azerbaijan in particular last year residents, board-certified radiologists and fellows interested in Cardiovascular Radiology and will cover level II and III knowledge as defined by the European Trainings Curriculum (ETC). This course is designed to provide insights into state of the art applications of modern Cardiac Radiology. It is organized as a multimodality course discussing the most relevant clinical applications of both Cardiac CT and MR. The presentations will provide clear recommendations for optimized imaging protocol as well as structured approach to reporting. One specific clinical focus of this course will be on the state-of-the-art application of Cardiac MR in the characterization of ischemic and non-ischemic myocardial disease, as well as on cardiac oncology, a rather new field. Another main topic will include the use of Cardiac CT in the visualization of coronary arteries and the diagnosis of coronary artery disease, even beyond stenosis detection and quantification. The faculty consists of three well known European experts who will ensure high-quality teaching. The successful structure of ESOR courses by combining the lectures with directly related interactive case discussions will be followed even in this course.

Learning objectives

  • To understand the importance of a anatomical evaluation of coronary artery disease and understand its inherent limitations
  • To learn about the principles of functional imaging for the evaluation of ischemic heart disease (CT and MR)
  • To analyze the clinical value of Cardiac CT in acute chest pain assessment.
  • To comprehend advanced cardiac imaging modalities for non-ischemic heart conditions, including oncologic heart disease and valvular abnormalities
